Policies
Privacy, terms, and accessibility.
This page outlines how we handle your personal information, the terms of using our website, and our commitment to accessibility. For any questions, contact us at info@zest.je.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Zest LTD collects and uses your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018. It describes what this website does today; when we add features that collect more, this page is updated with them. Last updated: 3 September 2026.
Who We Are
Zest LTD, 28 Halkett Place, St. Helier, Jersey is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. We are registered with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC). Contact: info@zest.je
What We Collect
When you visit the site, we use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how it is used and how quickly it loads. These record the page you viewed, the site that referred you, your approximate location (country and city), and the type of browser, device and operating system you are using. Vercel does not store your IP address: it uses it, together with your browser details, to make a short-lived identifier that is discarded within a day, so you cannot be recognised from one day to the next. No cookies are set.
When you apply for a job by emailing jobs@zest.je, we receive whatever you choose to send — usually your name, contact details, CV and a covering message. We use it only to consider your application.
When you submit an enquiry through our contact form we collect your name, email address, and the details of your request. We only collect what is necessary to respond.
We also collect your IP address when you submit a contact form. This is used solely to prevent automated abuse (rate limiting) and is not retained — it is automatically deleted within 5 minutes of your submission.
Why We Use It
Analytics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a website that works well, using a method designed not to identify you. Job applications are processed on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in recruiting.
General enquiries are handled on the basis of legitimate interests — responding to a request you have voluntarily submitted.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or direct marketing.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell your information. We use the following service providers, who are contractually required to protect your data and act only on our instructions:
Vercel (vercel.com) — hosts this website and provides our analytics. Vercel processes the visit data described above on our behalf.
Resend (resend.com) — email delivery service. Processes your name and email address to deliver booking confirmations, reminders, and contact form messages on our behalf.
Upstash (upstash.com) — rate limiting service. Temporarily processes your IP address to prevent automated abuse. Data is hosted in the EU (eu-west-1) and automatically deleted within 5 minutes.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
International Transfers
Vercel is a US company, and our analytics data is processed in the United States. This is an international transfer under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018. It is made under Vercel's Data Processing Agreement, which incorporates the Standard Contractual Clauses, and concerns only the limited visit data described above.
Resend is also a US-based company. Transferring personal data to them constitutes an international transfer, protected by Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by Resend.
Upstash hosts all data within the EU and no international transfer occurs for that service.
Jersey is recognised as providing adequate data protection by the EU and UK.
How Long We Keep It
Analytics data is held by Vercel in aggregated form for the retention period of our plan. The short-lived visitor identifier is discarded within a day.
Job applications are kept for six months after the role is filled and then deleted, unless you ask us to keep your details on file for future openings.
Enquiry records submitted via the contact form are deleted after 12 months.
No payment is taken through this website. If a deposit or payment is ever required (for example for a large party booking arranged by email), the relevant financial records will be kept for six years in line with Jersey tax record-keeping requirements.
Your Rights
Under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data, and to object to how it is used. To make a request, email info@zest.je. We will respond within four weeks. There is no charge for requests in ordinary circumstances.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies. Our analytics (Vercel Analytics) work without them, and nothing on this site tracks you across other websites.
If we ever introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary — for advertising, for example — we will ask for your consent first and update this policy to say what they do.
Policy Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated date at the top. We will not notify you directly by email when changes are made — please check this page periodically if you wish to stay informed.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC): 2nd Floor, Ritz House, 5 Castle Street, St. Helier, Jersey JE2 3BT — +44 (0)1534 716530 — enquiries@jerseyoic.org — jerseyoic.org
